Stellarium is a tool that will provide a wealth of information about the planets, stars, constellations and galaxies that can be seen in the sky. You’ll use the different utilities to explore every corner and see the Milky Way, the natural satellites. You can even view illustrations of the constellations as represented by ten different cultures.
You’ll also have a powerful zoom that will enable you to reach unexpected heights. You also get an eclipse simulator to marvel at this phenomenon and even study the trajectories of planets, stars and asteroids.
As if this were not enough, you'll also be able to expand the features of Stellarium by installing add-ons. This way, you will add a multitude of objects and resources available on the Web.
While not as complete or substantial as some competing programs, Stellarium is an excellent free alternative, both for those who are initiated in the study of the heavens, and for those who just want to be introduced to this fascinating field.
